My wife and I along with some fishing Buddy's at our river cabin met Rick Lavalley on August 1st coming down Kickapoo Slue (mile marker 256) in a poring rain. We offered him shelter from the rain under the Pavilion. He told us he had put in at the Mississippi River in St. Cloud MN and it was his 25th day on the river. We shared some great stories of his adventure as we fed him. He took a shower and we gave him a ride with his canoe in tow through Lock and dam # 24 dropping him off at Cedar Hill restaurant.
